First time in a long time.

It has been a while that we hear a good line up of all girls rock group. When we heard about a rock group, we could not help to imagine tight fitting all black attire, leather pants, black gothic mascara and of course the trendy long hair.

Just imagine a group just as rock, yet feminine.

To our surprise the trio that we met at Zoom Bamboo, at Gombak waterfall area last few weeks, is all about that. At first we were surprised to know how young they are (not to compare with the majority of the crew on that day!).

It was a harmonious acoustic version, and all three sings at the chorus. We were taken aback!
With Iqa on the vocal and bass, the group has superb guitar works with Mira on lead guitar and Shana on second guitar. Iqa, a Mentor finalist from the 5th season lends her vibrant and melodious vocal to the skillful tune of the guitars rendering ‘Luka’, the first single from this group.

‘Luka’, surprisingly a love-hate song penned by Edry of KRU, was sung in an easy listening and engaging tune. The song was so catchy that we the un-officials, feels that it should be in the acoustic version than the flawless studio version. Hah!
Back to Velvet; they shared that they wanted to be known as a talented rockers. Despite comments and saying from fans and not so-fans, the girls are actually experienced singer and musicians from the indie scenes. The assemble as Velvet, polished them as an all-girls rock band, under a more structured and established label of KRU.

On the image, how do they stay different from the old rocker labels? Mind you, they are indeed feminine and discipline, which is a real beauty if you are an artist. I am sure they will capture the heart of our younger listeners and become and inspirations of the many girl band to come.

I’m skeptical about where they would be in the years to come. But as Velvet says, they plan to grow with their fans, thus the musical composition will definitely suits you as we love them along the way. The best thing apart from having talents is that they have a vision to share their music all over the world. So we are looking at stardom in the making!

We feel that Velvet is indeed blessed with their talents. Although each of them have their own musical influences and inclination, they are balanced and complementing each other as a group. We at Bayang Production dot com and all the supporting crews wish all the best to Velvet
